How to add songs to DTXPlayer ?
To add a song in DTXPlayer is really straight forward and similar to DTXMania.
Step 1: Create song folder
Depending on what storage you’ve installed the app (SD card or Internal), create a folder called « DTX Player » in the root directory (./) . This will be the folder where your songs will be stored.
Step 2: Convert your audio and edit the DTX file
In order to work with the app, your audio must be in .OGG and the new format must be registered in the .DTX file. Don’t worry, it’s nothing complicated!
Your song consists of a single folder that must at least contain: a simfile (.dtx file), your background music (BGM) and the sound effects (SE).
- Convert/Decode the sound effects from .XA to .WAV using XaWrapper e or VLC then convert from .WAV to .OGG and delete the old sound effects.
You can also directly download my .OGG sound effects and place them in your song folder. You will have to rename them though or else it won’t work!
- Open the .dtx file with notepad. Search and replace all the .XA to .OGG then save.
OR
You can also directly download the converter here (DTXFileConverter v0.3). You will find a README file containing all the instructions at the end of this page.
Step 3. Transfer the simfiles and launch the game
Now your simfile is ready! Save your simfile in the DTX Player folder you’ve created on your phone.
You can also create subfolders by naming them like in this example:
Folder1.subfolder1

Unzip it under the « DTX Player » folder and open the app
